Our sweet little Reagan got perfect attendance in her first trimester of Kindergarten. You would have thought she won a trip to Disney Land. She was so excited and proud of herself... and so was I!
Even though school started off with a few tears... she absolutely LOVES it now. Every once in a while I toy with the idea of home school... and she kinda freaks out! She loves her teacher, her friends, being the line leader and so much more.
When you get an award like perfect attendance, she gets to receive a pin and an award in front of a few classes and parents at a small awards assembly. She received a gift certificate for a free dinner at Mimi's Cafe. So 2 weeks ago, when all the stars aligned, I took Reagan out for a special dinner at Mimi's Cafe with just the two of us! My kids get REALLY excited when we take them to a "sit down restaurant", because we hardly ever do! I can actually count on one hand the number of times that we have! (The first time we did we explained about waiters, tips, sitting still, being polite, etc... So now whenever we go out they want to know if it is a "sit down restaurant" a.k.a. fancy dinner, because they know there are different expectations and they get super excited)
I gave Reagan the camera and told her to take whatever pictures she wanted! This is like a dream come true!!! Since we are in the digital age... I try not to hoard my camera as much. So what if they take 71 pictures of the computer screen or 48 pictures of a movie they are watching. I can just delete them later right? But as for this collage... I used EVERY picture that she and I took during that 70 minute outing.

So cute!! This is one of the main reasons I'm not a fan of homeschooling - they don't get to have these sort of accomplishments, recognitions, and experiences otherwise. It's good for them to get rewarded in front of their peers - gives them something to be proud of. Not to mention the friendships they make and independence they experience. She is such a sweet girl.
What a good mommy! A special dinner, photos and a post!
