Activity Days

I'm a co-leader in my church's Activity Days program. Activity Days is held twice a month for an hour. Our goal is to teach the girls to live gospel principles, develop testimonies, and prepare to be righteous righteous young women. This program also encourages children to memorize the Articles of Faith.

Last month we were studying the word of wisdom. We talked about health and nutrition, eating right and exercising. We were so lucky that one of our Activity Day girls' Mom was a Zumba instructor! She was SO AWESOME (thanks again Lara)!! I was nervous that we'd have to drag the girls into the workout area and beg them to try it. I had NOTHING to worry about!! The girls loved it! After 5 minutes of shaking and strutting, spinning and groovin', we were all sweaty and still had 15 minutes to go! It was such a fun workout... and the girls did AWESOME!!!

Our next activity was a follow up on word of wisdom and respect for our bodies. We talked about modesty and the blessings that come from it. One being, marriage in the temple. So Jennifer (the other leader) and myself brought out wedding dresses for the girls to try on.

They were HILARIOUS! After doing a word search and puzzle, we told the girls about the wedding dress photo shoot. One girl screamed and said "This is the best day of my LIFE"!!! Too cute! It was SO FUN. They were all SO excited for their turn! We brought a step stool for them to stand on so the dress wouldn't drown them. With a few clips and pins in the back, one dress... fit all! These are my two nieces who are in Activity Days with me. I knew their mom wouldn't mind me posting their picture. These will be great photos for blackmail later :)
