Reagan and Lincoln's birthdays are 4 days apart. Reagan's is on the 22nd. Lincoln's is the 26th. So we basically party for like.... a week... NON STOP! I'm tired. Worn out. And so are the kids.

Here is Reagan. Birthday morning. She woke up BRIGHT and early. I let her open one of her birthday presents... so she could wear it all day. She had been counting down the days to her birthday. She has been reminding us for WEEKS that she was turning 6 and that she couldn't wait. At 7:45 AM on her special day she turns to me and says "Mom... I'm going to miss being 5". SERIOUSLY? This girl changes her mind as much as her MOM!!!! She is such a sweetie. There are days that get downright hard when your a mom, and Reagan is often the one who helps me regain control of the house, dinner, baby and laundry. She does SO MUCH without being asked. She is ALWAYS on my heels in the kitchen. She gets the mail daily, and loves that "HUGE" responsibility (she's only left the key in the mailbox once)! She loves school (now), and is of course nervous for 1st grade. She wanted to know if she could "try it out" for a week, and then be home-schooled if she didn't like it. I told her "SURE"! Because just like last year, I'm sure she's going to LOVE IT.
We normally do a combined birthday party for Lincoln and Reagan which consists of family. This year the kids asked for separate parties, with friends. We'd never done that before and a I was game. I used to share MY birthday with my brother Chris who has a birthday 2 days before mine. But now... I KNOW WHY!! This week was payback (I'm sorry mom if I every gave you grief), and has been the week from.... you know where!!!!! Birthday on Wednesday. Party on Thursday. Recover on Friday while preparing for party on Saturday. Then birthday on Sunday. Between RSVP's, thank you's, breakdowns, gift paper, tired kids, nursing baby, balloons, decorations, sunscreen, working husband, and a good book that I stayed up reading until 2 in the morning one night.... I. AM. BEAT.
Opening a present on her birthday... a cute shirt with a built in scarf and shrug. This girl LOVES clothes... I'm in big trouble when they start costing more than $3-$7!!!
Reagan's Party Recap:
{The girls made journals for their craft}
She helped me plan the WHOLE thing... Start to finish. She was great about prep work. Invitations. Shopping. Cleaning. Decorating. It was fun. It was great to see how excited she was to do everything. She truly felt "in charge".
{Jefferson entertaining himself with a box of supplies}
{All the girls moments before their parents arrived}
It was worth it. The girls had SO much fun. At first I thought I had made a mistake by planning a 4 hour party... but it wasn't at all! Dare I say... we actually RAN OUT of time:)! There were a few games we had to forgo. Reagan seemed to be on cloud 9, and she did great with all the attention that she normally shies away from.
