It was my month to host family dinner (we have it the first Sunday of every month), and I chose the theme "Taste The Rainbow"!!!
Everyone did such an awesome job coming up with colorful dishes!
We played 3 games (because I am the ultimate gamer and any event is more fun if there is a game played during it!).
1st game: Name That Flavor
I bought 6 different sodas and ripped of their labels. Everyone tasted and wrote down their guesses as to which soda was what. My niece Marlyn was the only one to guess them all correct. If you can guess them all correctly via my blog... I'll send you a prize :) (see how I just snuck another game in!)
2nd game: I've Never....
Everyone had a little container of skittles. Then one at a time we took turns saying something that we've never done/had. If you HAD done it, then you had to give the asking person one of your skittles. Example? My brother Greg said "I've never worn a disposable diaper". So everyone in the room who HAD worn one (which was everyone else), had to give him one skittle. In the end my niece Makenna won! After one round, she had the most skittles!
3rd game: Cut the flour
My kids played this game at grandma camp. They had a pile of flour (3 or 4 cups), and you set a skittle on top. Everyone takes turns cutting chunks of the flour away. The person who ends up moving the skittle looses. Well, Lincoln lost. And after he lost someone informed us of the consequence of loosing (a part they DIDN'T do at grandma camp). The looser has to get the skittle out of the flour pile without using their hands... using only their teeth :). Lincoln was a good sport and didn't have to be told twice by anyone to do it!!! I wouldn' have made him do it anyway.... but he felt like a challenge... and he was victorious!
ALSO... It was aunt Amy's birthday. She is such a sweetheart. She is SO talented. And she does not even seem close to being 25. But if there is an age to be... I guess that is a good one. I feel so lucky to have her in our family.
