I'm a worrywart. Big surprise? If you know me well... probably not! I've gotten better (I think), in most aspects of worrying.
How?? My husband (does the exact opposite of worry), time (getting older has had it's advantages), having babies, loosing babies, being around carefree people, tragic accidents, love, service, understanding our eternal perspective better.... you know... the basics.
I would also contribute my active effort to change for my daughter Reagan. She worries A TON. She has bad dreams 3-4 times a week. Every time I leave she bawls... even if I'm running 1 mile down the road to Walgreens for a package of cough drops. It is all too familiar to me. The fear of never seeing someone again. She worries about McKinley at the grocery store. McKinley is notorious for lagging behind (on purpose) then running around the corner to the next isle to catch up. Reagan will get all panicked with tears in her eyes and say "MOM. DO YOU WANT TO LOOSE MCKINLEY?????"!! She is SUCH a mother hen... and I love her for it. But most times she worries too much for a 6 year old. This is especially apparent in her prayers at night. She asks Heavenly Father to bless Jefferson to sleep all night so that I wont be tired. She asks him help Zach and My teeth not hurt so much from our braces. She asks for help sleeping after her bad dreams. Those are just a few that I can remember!! It's enough to make ME bawl. She's inherited and LEARNED to worry FROM ME. At school, she didn't like using the bathroom, because what if her teacher accidentally left her behind? Even though her class room was NEXT TO THE BATHROOM! My poor little Reagan. So, I try for her sake, to be a better mom that worries less.
Anyway, I saw these quotes and loved each and every one of them. Maybe you will too.
Rule number one is, don't sweat the small stuff. Rule number two is, it's all small stuff. ~Robert Eliot
Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere. ~Glenn Turner
Worry often gives a small thing a big shadow. ~Swedish Proverb

Worry a little less today. And then a little less tomorrow...

P.S. When you google "what does a worrywart look like", this is what comes up :)

Cute... but sad.

Man I totally worry about everything too. Just recently I've gotten better because I've really started noticing how all of the things I worry about always end up turning out okay, and I worried for nothing. I don't want to age myself prematurely from worrying! I think Reagan's worrying is cute - especially about you and Zach and McKinley.
