I know that I have just posted a MILLION posts for my game show thing. But I had to update my grocery smarts status!
I went to Smiths on Monday (huge sales goin' on ladies).
And yes, I went looking LIKE THIS, brown pants, black sandals, not showered, hair pulled back with Reagan, McKinley, Madilyn & Kyra (she was dressed). I was anxious b/c I REALLY wanted to make sure I hit the sale, but was running out of time. I left my house at 10:45. Stopped by a friends house to sign some paperwork for scouts at 10:55. Walked into Smith's store at 11:00. Walked out WITH a FREE REDBOX MONDY at 11:36. Went home. Unloaded. Got to the bus stop at 12:00! It can be done :)
Total Cost: $117.73
SMITH'S Savings: $35.26
Coupon Savings: $43.90
Total Out Of Pocket: $38.57
Percentage of Savings: 67%
It's not too late if you haven't gone shopping yet. The promotion they have going on now, is still good until midnight TONIGHT.

Some of these used coupons from my Sunday papers. The pasta (DEAL OF THE WEEK), was a "buy 10 items get an INSTANT $5 off at the register". I love it when they can take the money off at the register instead of ME having to do a million transactions and have to roll my transactions one after another!
I must have been using the Smiths by my sister Rachelle's house recently, because when I went MY Smith's (Rainbow & Windmill), they checker was so impressed that she told everyone else in the line behind me. I could tell she was SO proud of me! She kept asking me questions about how I was saving all this money! I need make and keep some cards in my purse that have Jill's information on it (my Grocery Smarts lady).
Anyway... hope you enjoyed seeing and reading about my success. So far... my up to date success for saving money is as follows:
Albertsons ..................... $67
$10 Target Gift Card .......$10
Smith's ...........................$44
Walgreens .......................$22
Total Savings: ..................$143
Seriously... I paid $85 for my newspapers. So far I'm $58 AHEAD, and I still have 3 months left. Has it been worth it? YEP! Am I going to keep my subscriptions? Probably. And I'll probably add another paper to the pile :)
P.S. I just went to Jill's "advance coupon class". She gave me the info on how to work Walgreen's and CVS. My savings should start SKYROCKETING! We'll see. That might be overstating it a LITTLE, but I have high hopes!
Until the next shopping trip......
P.P.S. Lincoln REALLY wanted to take the picture. I'm not super stoked about it, but he checks out the blog too, and wanted to have a picture on here that HE took.

I just started getting my coupons - can't wait to start using them! I know it takes a second for the coupons to catch up to the sales - can't wait! Thanks for the post!!!
Way to go lady!!!!
I went and got some pasta right after you told me about the sale....
I now have 12 bags of pasta and 10 spaghetti sauces in my pantry :D YEAH!
OK, I have been looking into this and I just can't pull it all together. But I will. You are amazing.
I need to give you a call and have you be my inspiration. I have been talking about doing this for a long time but just haven't got to it. I feel like our food consumption has gone up a lot and we need to be able to eat healthy at home on a tight budget. Thanks for helping me to get motivated.
