They're BAAAAAAACK!

My Mom and Dad! They are home from their mission in the Congo. I can't believe how fast 2 years has gone by! On Wednesday July 6th they flew into the Las Vegas airport. It was quite an event! Everyone wore a Headlee family t-shirt (we have several to choose from, from past reunions) and we blocked off half of the baggage area with our kids, strollers and signs.

23 anxious kids and grandkids waiting for Mom/Dad/Grandma/Grandpa!

{The grandkids spent 2 hours making the signs!! Then... the signs got left at home... but thanks to some quick driving, and a long walk from the terminal for Mom and Dad... they were up in time for the big event!}

{Waiting... Waiting... Waiting...}

WELCOME HOME!!!

We had no idea what escalator they would be coming down (there were 3 possibilities). So we had different people assigned to be the lookout while we tried to contain and manage the 13 kids.

As we were anxiously awaiting and scouring the escalators searching for mom and dad... people couldn't help but STARE back at this crazy spectacle. Numerous strangers took photos of us as we waited patiently. We started welcoming everyone to Las Vegas, to help pass the time :)

With every new wave of people that would come down, we would ask a friendly looking gal or fellow what flight they had just taken. When people started saying the flight number that we new my parents were on, we all started going crazy!!!!!!!

Finally we spotted them on the escalator (luckily it was the one we had been standing in front of the whole time), and when they were halfway down, we all started chanting "HEADLEE! HEADLEE! HEADLEE!". My mom turned 4 shades of red, and my dad just smiled!! As soon as they hit the bottom step everyone rushed to hug them... fully blocking all other traffic trying to get to the luggage carousals.

It was nice that non of the onlookers were annoyed... both before when we were waiting, and after my parents got there. People seemed genuinely happy for us and our reunion!

After we loaded up the vehicles, we all went back to Greg and Whitney's house for dinner and togetherness :) Somethings stayed the same, while others changed a lot. It was fun to catch up and be together as a family!
