I hate to admit it... but I've stuck all my toddlers in front of Baby Einstein around 18 months... and they have all loved it. Well... all except one. JEFFERSON! Those precious 30 minute videos would buy me enough time to take a quick shower AND do a decent job on my hair and makeup. Well this kiddo could not care less! He use to tolerate Sesame Street for about 12 minutes... as long as the majority of that time had Elmo in it... but he quickly tossed Elmo aside. Last week sometime, Zach was trying to get Jefferson to fall asleep next to him by watching Netflix. He turned on some series about animals and within 5 minutes Jefferson was zonked out. Thanks killer whales! So two nights later he tried the same thing. Naturally he moved to the second show in the series which happened to be on eagles. (FYI: Jefferson does have a slight bird fetish) Not only did the eagles show NOT make him fall asleep... but he loved every second of it!!!
Yesterday while I was trying to get a few things done around the house, and I needed my little munchkin entertained (his brother and sisters were gone), I asked him if he wanted to watch Elmo. He emphatically said "NO" while vigorously shaking his head. I remembered that Zach had told me about the eagle thing he had going on, so I asked if he wanted to watch the EAGLE show. He ran over to the couch saying (what I only can assume was) "EEEEEGLE".
It did the trick. 15 minutes was all I needed, and he was a little sad when I turned it off :) Cute little stinker!
The video I captured was Jefferson watching a part where an eagle was eating a turtle.
"Eeeew" just happens to be the work of the week. Last week it was disgusting. The week before then it was gross. Just my typical vocab while changing diapers and wiping noses. At least I know that he's listening right?
