Happy 9th Birthday to Lincoln!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINCOLN!!!
Much to my surprise, when I asked Lincoln what he wanted to do for his birthday, he wanted to do almost exactly what Reagan did. Drive around for hours, stopping at multiple store along the way, and lunch at his choice of a fast food restaurant!

(Lincoln and Jefferson picking locks)

So that's what we did. Party City, Ross, Wal-Mart, then Burger King for lunch. I then dropped him off at his cousin Simon house to go see Madagascar 3. (A much more fun alternative than going with his boring mom later that night :0 ) After the movie Simon came back home with Lincoln for a sleepover.

Lincoln got his Wolf badge in Cub Scouts, and has advanced to a Bear! After receiving a lock picking set for his birthday from his dad (ah-hem) he said "Mom, I really wish there was a belt loop in scouts for lock picking"! I wish there was too! Lincoln really does love scouts. They've done some really fun stuff in the past year. I'm so appreciative of his hard working leaders. They rock! In the above picture Lincoln is leading the group in the "seal cheer" to congratulate him in receiving the Wolf badge.

After scouts, we told Lincoln we had to stop by his other cousins house so he could open their birthday gift to him. The three amigos (above). All born within 6 months of each other. We are totally missing Braden (who is also 9)... their long lost cousin in Idaho :(  ! 18 hours was just too long of a drive for them to try and take yesterday.

This was taken just moments after we told him we planned a small surprise party for him which was NIGHT SWIMMING!! He was SO excited... AND surprised!

It was tricky trying to use the pool light instead of the flash. Some of the pictures are funky. But they were all taken with no natural light. Some with flash. Some with longer exposure. The sun was long gone by the time we went out to the pool (8:15). The pool has underwater lights which we shut off occasionally so that the kids could fully appreciate their glow sticks... it never lasted long because it worried the parents too much :)

I invited a few people (last minute of course) to join us at the pool. His friends Luke, Ben and Zach Shumway came and brought GLOW STICKS! It was off the hook!

Glow Sticks GALORE!

Jefferson loved swimming in the dark.

I counted to three because I wanted everyone to look at the camera... Well Simon (Lincoln's cousin) jumped into the middle of the pool on 3!!! It's kinda hard to see... but he is MID AIR, and his smile says EVERYTHING!!!!

He chose donuts instead of cake or ice cream. Easy and yummy!

Lincoln is a pretty easy going kid. He teases his sisters, and loves his brother. He loves to invent. He is creative. He loves to read & swim (not at the same time). He is going to grow up to be just like his father (which is a great thing).  So lucky to have such a great kid as our firstborn. We love you Lincoln!
