{I'm not scared at all. They are just slimy snails... And yes... I'm still wearing my clothes from yesterday because we fell asleep in the car and my mom didn't want to wake me up to put my P.J's on. That's what vacation is all about. Right?}
{My grandma owns two houses. My kids always ask to stay at the "snail house". That's how we differentiate them now.}
{Jefferson heading straight for the pile of snails. He grabbed one and was a millimeter away from shoving it into his mouth. I had to practically drop my camera to prevent this from happening... all while dry heaving...}
The kids had fun swimming, snailing (finding snails and letting them race, picking out their favorite, and making huge piles of them), playing, running around crazy and getting spoiled by their grandparents.
I had fun eating, sleeping, relaxing, shopping, laughing, eating, and spending quality time with those I love (gag on the cheesiness... but it's true).
We arrived later than anticipated (that's what happens when you have kids) on Friday night. Ate dinner. Let the kids run wild. And set up beds.
We woke up Saturday, went to a garage sale, got ready, went shopping, then hit the Iron County Fair and Rodeo in Parowan. Super fun. Super fattening food. Super tiring. Hi-lights of Saturday: Watching my kids catch air on a slide ride, fireworks at the end of the rodeo, giving Jefferson his first taste of a snow cone.
Sunday we righteously hit 1pm church. I was able to spend most of my time trying to entertain Jefferson in the hall ... not a happy time for me. I realized how much Zach deals with Jefferson every Sunday and I don't!!! It is always such a nice break to be able to attend Sunday School and Relief Society... not this week:) But all was well after arriving home, where my mom of COURSE puts on a HUGE dinner and yummy dessert. We stay up late visiting and laughing. Hi-lights of Sunday: Playing Skittles and Simon's amazing dance off!
Monday was overcast and AWESOME. My dad helped me GUT OUT my dirty van. The kids went swimming (twice). I went shopping AGAIN (oops). We had 2 enormous meals (thanks for the 4 lb weight gain Mom!! wink, wink) and grudgingly went home around 7pm. Just me, Reagan, McKinley and Jefferson. Hi-lights of Monday: Watching the kids eat smores the size of their fists!
I am so grateful to have such awesome family members. There is no way I would have had an enjoyable weekend without them. There was always someone there to help dish up my girls, or to hold Jefferson when I couldn't, or brush and do their hair, or countless other things. I usually feel 2 steps behind, and this weekend I felt right on pace with everyone else.
{Jefferson freaking out because I am across the pool area. Zoom in on the picture... it's worth it!}
Zach stayed up in Paragonah (where his parents live) the whole weekend, plus an extra day. So the only day I saw him was on Saturday afternoon and evening while we were at the fair. He and Lincoln came home Tuesday afternoon after their 4 day hunting adventure. They really are two peas in a pod! It is so fun to see them share a passion like hunting. Lincoln loves spending so much time with Zach. I know when he is older he will look back at these memories and remember how much his Dad loved him.
So 4 days later... all the laundry is caught up. House is put back together. Sleep is recovered. A few pictures are uploaded. And I can't wait for the opportunity to do it all over again.
